- God designed you for good. The Bible says God created you in His image! You have great value simply because God made you and loves you. And, because of how he created you, you can do great things to love God and love others.
- Evil has damaged you. Although you are God's creation, you, like everyone else, have sinned. The Bible says your sin has consequences that you cannot fix just by trying to be a "good" person. You need help!
- God, through Jesus, can re-create you for better. The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." It also says that when you become a Christian you become a new person!
- You are forgiven so you can live a new kind of life. While God's forgiveness promises you an eternity in heaven it also lets you live a new life now! The Bible says that you can act justly, love mercy and walk humbly as a way of loving God. It also says that you have been created by God specifically so that you can do good works which he has already prepared just for you to do. People need what you can do! God will help you do it!
If you would like God to re-create your life and work in and through your life in a new way, pray a prayer like this:
"Dear God, thank you for making me and loving me. I am a sinner. Please forgive my sin and transform me. I receive your gift of salvation through Jesus. Work in my life to make me more like Jesus, and use me to do your good in this world. Amen."
As you begin your new life, tell others about it! Talk with God regularly in prayer and listen to him daily by reading the Bible. A church home can also be a great help as you begin to learn more of what it means to follow Jesus.
