There is a lot of confusion over this business of calling, especially for the average person in the church, Are you called? Or is God’s calling just for super saints? Interestingly, there are people outside of the church who want to talk about calling, but who refuse to speak about the God who calls.

One of the amazing truths of life is that the God who deserves all glory is the one who gives truly amazing grace.  We are not qualified to offer God anything worthwhile in our own strength but through his grace we are new creations,
holy in his sight and able to offer ourselves as living sacrifices that bring him glory.

People have all kinds of opinions about churches.  Some have very negative attitudes and thoughts about churches and unfortunately sometimes churches deserve some of the criticism they receive.  However, churches can be an incredible force for good in their community and to the world beyond.  The apostle Paul was greatly encouraged by the loving support of the church in Philippi and Wooddale C

Contentment is a slippery thing.  When we reach for it in our own strength it can be difficult to catch.  And, when we are enjoying a season of contentment it can suddenly and mysteriously disappear.  We are constantly encouraged to be discontented and it is so easy to focus not on what we have but on what we don’t yet have.  But Paul says we can learn how to be content.  He also knows where w
