In some of his poetry, David bemoaned the pain in life. In those poems, he cried out for God’s help. In Psalm 20, however, David highlighted the victories and directed the focus on god’s goodness and strength. David penned this wonderful poem that has been prayed through and passed on by generations of believers.

Psalm 19 is one of the finest examples of Hebrew poetry. C.S. Lewis said, “I take this to be the greatest poem in the Psalter.” Powerful imagery and great theology come together under David’s hand to give us a rich picture of God’s power and his blessings.

When God really wants to get your attention, he doesn’t just whisper something once- he echoes. He may grab your attention while reading a scripture, only to have the same passage addressed during the Sunday sermon. You think it’s just coincidence until the topic pops up in a chance conversation with a friend the next morning, and again that afternoon in an email.

Are you Called? Part 2

This message will build on the previous week and look at how God calls most people to serve him where we already are. We make a mistake when we think that only some people are called. Of course, some are called to vocational ministry, but most of us are called to serve him at home or in the market place.
