An event every week that begins at 9:30am on Wednesday, repeating until April 24, 2019
The first wave of Jewish exiles returned from Babylon to Jerusalem under the authority of the Persian King Cyrus in 538 BC in order to rebuild Solomon’s temple. While Haggai the prophet encouraged the Jews in their work on the temple, Zechariah encouraged them to repent and renew their covenant with God. This was necessary before they could worship in the temple. Zechariah’s message from God concerned social justice for widows, orphans and foreigners. While he reprimanded them for their lack of social justice, he also comforted and cared for them as they endured opposition from outsiders to rebuild the temple. Zechariah ends with the promise of the coming Messiah who will set up His kingdom on earth. Join us as we look at the principles in Zechariah and apply them to our lives today. Teaching Leader: Barbara Mazorol. This study meets February 20 – April 24, 2019 except April 17.
