Jesus and the Influencers of His Day

There were a variety of “Influencers” in the society Jesus lived in. The writers of Scripture captured the teachings of Jesus from His interaction with these people. They included: Forerunners, Seekers, Curious, Helpers, Challengers, Believers, Rulers, and Enemies. We will study Jesus’ interactions with the different groups to learn practical lessons for our own lives.
This class is taught by Dr. Michael Wise.

When Bad Things Happen

A study for men and women. Chaos. Tragedy. Brokenness. Where is God? We cry for help, but God doesn’t seem to hear. What about wars, disasters, and plaques? If God is who He says He is, why doesn’t He do something? In this study, we will learn what the book of Habakkuk teaches about who God is, and to understand Him and love Him more fully as we walk by faith.

The Letters of Peter and John

Peter and John were two of the three disciples with whom Jesus spent special time. For example, he chose them to experience the Mount of Transfiguration. Their voices are special and particular. In the fall semester, we will begin studying several of their writings to profit from what God gave them for life and worship. Come and join us. This class is taught by Dr. Michael Wise.

Earliest Letters of Paul

This class will study what are believed to be the earliest letters of the Apostle Paul: 1 & 2 Thessalonians. In the Thessalonian correspondence, we see Paul’s earliest presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We find him dealing with issues that are unique among his letters such as the discussion of the Anti-Christ and the Second Coming. The focus of our study will be growth in Christ and practical application of God’s timeless truths in today’s world.
