There were a variety of “Influencers” in the society Jesus lived in. The writers of Scripture captured the teachings of Jesus from His interaction with these people. They included: Forerunners, Seekers, Curious, Helpers, Challengers, Believers, Rulers, and Enemies. We will study Jesus’ interactions with the different groups to learn practical lessons for our own lives.
This class is taught by Dr. Michael Wise.

Starting Point is a series of conversations (not a class) about faith and life. Regardless of your background, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet regularly with a small group of people to have intentional, engaging conversations centered around faith and how it applies to life. If you are new to Wooddale or have questions about faith and life, this group is perfect for you. There is no cost to join.
A study for men and women. Chaos. Tragedy. Brokenness. Where is God? We cry for help, but God doesn’t seem to hear. What about wars, disasters, and plaques? If God is who He says He is, why doesn’t He do something? In this study, we will learn what the book of Habakkuk teaches about who God is, and to understand Him and love Him more fully as we walk by faith.

This study is for women and men. The book of Isaiah is called the “crown jewel” of the prophets of the Old Testament. The prophesies in Isaiah are quoted in 22 places in the New Testament, often by Jesus Himself. Chapters 1 – 39 are about the Israelites who lived at that time and claimed to know God, but didn’t honor God in the way they lived. Join us in this study for men and women as we learn how to apply the truths in this book in our lives. Isaiah Part 2 will follow in January 2023.

One of the most important churches that the Apostle Paul founded was located in Corinth (central Greece). It was also one of the most difficult congregations for Paul to shepherd. Forged in these difficult circumstances were some of Paul’s central teachings in the emotionally charged second letter to the Corinthians. Such teachings include: reconciliation with God, our heavenly dwelling, suffering in Christian life, etc. Come and study as we learn practical lessons from God’s word.

This class will study what are believed to be the earliest letters of the Apostle Paul: 1 & 2 Thessalonians. In the Thessalonian correspondence, we see Paul’s earliest presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We find him dealing with issues that are unique among his letters such as the discussion of the Anti-Christ and the Second Coming. The focus of our study will be growth in Christ and practical application of God’s timeless truths in today’s world.
