My children and I have been homeless for 2 months. We havent been able to get any help and cant get into any shelters because they dont recognize disabilities. My son has autism and is now 20. I've been told over and over I need to turn him loose to fend for himself make him go to mens shelter. I cant do that. His mind and mental age is like a 11/12 year old. I could never do that to any special needs kid especially my own. All our income is going to pay people to let us sleep on their floors but alot of stuff goes on at these places I dont want my kids around so we spend alot of time in our truck. We are having a hard time finding places that will take section 8 and figuring out how to get deposit money together. We are really struggling and im feeling like a failure as a mom because Christmas is almost here and I cant even give my kids a home much less a christmas.
Prayer request for Amie, Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis, has been shifted: There was no surgery scheduled from last prayer request due to finding 3 spots on her liver and a spot in her abdomen near the bottom of her lung. Pastor Dale's series for today was to rejoice in the suffering...? How can you can rejoice in going back to more rounds of chemotherapy? They are absolutely crushed with this devastating news after things were looking good. We all know that God is in control... Am asking now for prayers of tremendous strength and faith as we hope she does not give up and that her family hangs on as well to have a normal Christmas! Very, very sad news!!! Thank you.
My brother, Mike, and his wife, Julie, are dedicated to the Word of God and actively worship in a congregation in Apple Valley. They will need all of their strength for a new challenge in their lives.
Three weeks ago, Julie's 23 year old son, Dustin, was diagnosed with cancer. They knew it was serious, but they did not know how serious. That was one week before Dustin's wedding. Since then, tests have shown that the cancer is all over his body - - in his lungs, bones, and prostate.
Because it is a very unusual cancer, Mayo Clinic in Rochester is treating him. They have already done surgery and want to do even more radical surgery. When he is not in the hospital, Dustin is being cared for at my brother's house. He is in a lot of pain and can hardly move. He is not giving up, but he has said no to having more of his body removed through surgery. He hopes that chemotherapy will save him. Although his new wife, his mother, and my brother are with him constantly, he feels alone and frustrated.
Please pray with me for Dustin and his wife, and for Mike and Julie, that they will feel the love of our Father in Heaven at all times. Please ask our Father to bless them with peace and hope and healing as they travel this difficult road together.
