“Where are you?” asked the familiar Voice gently with genuine concern. The question lingered amidst the conversations of birds and animals in the lush Garden.
When Adam and Eve answered, they chose to hide behind their shame. They blamed others for their actions, and even blamed God! God quickly removed them from the Garden. In preparation for life outside the garden, He carefully clothed them with animal skins. They could reject Him, but His unending love would not fail them. He would provide a way to restore their relationship.
God continues to wait for each of His beloved to return to Him. The world around us models ticking bombs exploding with lists of wrongs. The enemy wants to isolate us and snuff the very last hope out of our defeated souls. Yet in that place of chaos, God gently asks each of us; “Where are you my child?” He invites us to choose Him and to allow Him to restore our lives.
“Where are you?” Your Creator truly wants to know. He’s ready to listen.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
