It’s a Control Issue

We have all been in the situation, where it feels as though everything is spiraling out of control. It may have started when you lost your job, your friends suddenly turned against you or you were faced with an expenditure that was more than your finances could handle. At those times, you may wonder what to do, how it all started or even where God is.

The most important thing to remember is God is always with you. When you feel like you are alone, know that God is there. We are told in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” In this difficult time, the Creator of the universe is at your side.

Though you may not know how a difficult situation will resolve, we are told in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” God is all-knowing and sees what needs to be done. Though you may not understand what is happening around you, placing your trust in the Lord is the most logical step.

Finally, remember that your circumstances might be part of God’s plan. Sometimes things happen for a reason. They might be in place to test you or to lead to a better place in your personal life. Regardless of the reason, know that God can and will intercede for you. Remember Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
