Laura Johnson serves as the Human Resources Director at Wooddale Church, bringing more than 15 years of experience in human resources within nonprofit, healthcare, education and ministry environments. She is passionate about supporting and equipping employees with their HR needs so they can achieve their fullest potential at work.
Known for her expertise in employee relations, recruitment, benefits, compliance and HR systems, Laura is committed to creating positive workplace cultures through clear communication, thoughtful policies and collaborative problem-solving.
In addition to her work in Human Resources, she also worked as a children’s ministry director and a preschool director.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Development and Management from the University of Minnesota and is SHRM-CP certified.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys baking, volunteering in children’s ministry, hosting family gatherings and exploring arts and crafts. She and Chris, her husband of 30 years, recently moved to the area. They have two sons and a daughter-in-law.
Laura finds inspiration in James 1:2-4, which reminds her to embrace life’s challenges with perseverance, as well as Philippians 1:6 and Isaiah 64:8, which speak to God’s ongoing work in shaping and refining us into His masterpiece.
