Dan joined the Wooddale team in October 2020 as the care pastor. Years back, he served on staff as an intern while attending Bethel College (1980) and seminary (1984). During his time at Bethel College, now Bethel University, he met his wife Sarah (1981). After his internship at Wooddale, Dan and Sarah moved to California to begin his role as the outreach and assimilation pastor for Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. Six years later, his family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he served as senior pastor at Faith Baptist Fellowship for the next 19 years. Thereafter, their journey continued to Minnesota where he became the executive minister of Converge North Central and served for 12 ½ years.
Along with his excitement for returning to Wooddale, Dan brings his contagious enthusiasm, heart for ministry, and being a lover of Jesus and people to the role. He delights in seeing lives transformed by the love and power of Christ. Dan and Sarah have 4 grown children: Hannah (Ryan), Peter, Rebekah and Rachel, and two granddaughters: Myra and Claire. They enjoy spending time with their kids, grandkids and friends; being outdoors; traveling; exploring communities and mastering the art of backyard grilling.
