Kathy Emerson grew up in a mission-minded family and loves seeing God’s work here, near and far. Her role at Wooddale involves working with local ministries to support and serve the community.
After 25 years in the corporate world, Kathy joined the church’s staff in 2007. But even then she wasn’t a newcomer to Wooddale — she has been a member since 1982. Before being called into ministry, Kathy, who holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Bethel University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota, spent 25 years in the corporate world.
Outside of her full-time role, Kathy is an active volunteer in Junior High Ministries, leading the A.U.G. program for 9th graders.
Kathy and her husband, Michael, have three children — one of whom is a Wooddale global partner — and five grandchildren.
Kathy believes that every encounter with another person has a purpose. Her favorite activities include reading books, traveling around the world, hiking and cheering on her favorite Minnesota sports teams, including the Vikings, Timberwolves, Twins and Wild.
Her life verse is Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
