2017 India Freeset Trip
Our team from Wooddale Church will be working to serve and minister to Freeset, an organization dedicated to seeing women become freed from the sex trade. Freeset is a fair trade business offering employment to women trapped in Kolkata’s sex trade.
Freeset desires to see the 10,000 sex workers in their neighborhood empowered with the choice of leaving a profession they never chose in the first place. They make quality jute bags and organic cotton t-shirts. However, Freeset’s real business is freedom!
The dates of the trip are December 29, 2016 – January 11, 2017. Here are a few key things that we hope to accomplish in our Cross-Cultural Ministry:
- Work projects around Freeset’s new Gateway Building including painting, general scrubbing and clean-up.
- Connecting with Freeset employees showing friendship and God’s love. Worshipping and praying with the workers.
- Planting seeds in the hearts of the members of our team in order to spur more people to continue in anti-trafficking ministries and alleviating poverty.
