We arrived in Siliguri, India to begin our second session. We have about 30 individuals from Bhutan, West Bengal, Eastern Nepal, Tibet and other parts of India. Within a year we should see five hundred new churches started from all the men we have trained. Wooddale Church is well on the way to seeing four thousand new churches by 2022. In fact we believe that God is going to allow us to see even more churches planted. Remember, these are churches made up of brand new believers.
There are some amazing stories I am hearing from the pastors. One pastor who came to faith is a “Lama” meaning a high cast Buddhist priest. His father was the Transport Secretary for the Dalai Lama. When the Dalai Lama fled Tibet in the early 60’s, many Buddhist monks and families fled with him including his Transport Secretary. They settled in a region of India that is protected and near the Tibetan border. The Transport Secretary was killed in the second Chinese incursion into the region. His son who knows the Dalai Lama and had rank and privilege as a high cast Buddhist developed blood cancer. He was in the hospital for a long time and told by the doctors he would die. A local pastor came to pray for him. At first he refused any prayers saying that there were plenty of monks praying for him and there was no hope. Finally the “Lama” said the pastor could pray and he did and the “Lama” felt better but he wasn’t cured yet. Something dramatic was about to take place. I’ll tell you about it in my next blog. I have to leave for training now 🙂
